Change Hard Drive Icon

How to change Hard Drive Icon :-

  1. Create a new text file , change the name New Text Document.txt to Autorun.inf
    change the name New Text Document.txt to Autorun.inf

  2. Prepare a picture Ico , change it name to MM.ico (Of course , you can also change the name of your favorite.) Open the Autorun.inf withe Notepad , edit it like this :

    [autorun]

    icon=MM.ico

    edit Autorun.inf

  3. Put the Autorun.inf and MM.ico into the root directory of the disk . I put it on the c:\
    In the root directory of the disk

  4. Reboot your computer . You can see the results .

Put Icon on (USB) Flash Drive

How to Put Icon on (USB) Flash Drive


  • Locate and download an icon that you would like to use in the ICO format.

  • Right-click on the icon and click Rename and change the name of the icon to autorun.ico

  • Locate your flash drive, open it and copy your new icon autorun.ico into your flash drive directly without creating any folder.



  • Launch Notepad. Type [autorun] on the first line, then press Enter to drop to the second line. Type icon=autorun.ico on the second line.

  • Click  File from menu bar of Notepad and click on Save As, Navigate to the location of your flash drive. Click the Save As Type drop-down menu at the bottom of the window and select All Files. Name the file autorun.inf and click on Save.

  • Remove and reinsert the flash drive. The custom icon will be displayed in your My Computer or Computer screen.

1. Open Doc/ Docx document in Office 2010 Word which you want  to convert to PDF/XPS


2. Now Click on Office Button and select Save As

3. Click on Save as Type and select PDF(*.pdf)/ XPS Documents (*.xps)

That’s it, No Need of any Add-on or third party software to convert documents into PDF/XPS format.

How to Know OS Installation of your Windows

If you want to know OS installation of your windows or any other info related to your PC,normally windows OS does not provide that info ,about OS installation date.Here i am found simple solution to find or know OS installation date.However you can view the window installation dates from command prompt by giving external command to do that.Herebelow i am focusing to windows OS  installation date.

First of all start with command prompt,in windows by going to RUN ->CMD->HIT ENTER BUTTON.In command prompt type systeminfo ,it will look below the screen shot




Now search for the OS installation date.There you can find exact installation date.Not only this,you can also view BIOS info,Production code,time and date of system,total physical memory size, etc.

In Windows 7 ,If you want to hide your important data’s,perform the given steps to hide or protect your system data.
1. First of all you need to be logged into your computer with full administrative rights.
2. Click start->Run and type Cmd and hit enter button to open command prompt.
3. Now you type diskpart and press enter button to appears diskpart utility.It will show the list of volumes.
4. Type list volume ,after diskpart>prompt,this command will show you all system drives details.
5. If you need to hide F drive (for example),then you type select volume 4 and hit enter button.
6. After loading volume,type remove letter F to hide F drive.Now exit the command prompt and open mycomputer to verify drives.
7. Finally next time ,when you want to unhide the F drive,just type assign drive F command after loading volume 4.

Format USB Drive or Pen Drive Using Command Prompt

How to format USB Drive ?
First  open command prompt:
Start ->Run -> Cmd .Hit enter button.
or
Start -> All Programs -> Accessories -> Command Prompt
Then command prompt will appears on the screen.By using format command you can format your PenDrive.
Then type  

        FORMAT H:  /FS:FAT32 
                         or
         format h: /fs:fat32

Here 'H' is a drive letter.Press Enter & give name to your Pendrive or USB.
Then after the process is over now your drive is fresh, and ready to be written.
